I’ve been wanting to get back into blogging for quite some time now. Next to drawing, I love to write, but seldom have the time to do so. Not to mention, every time I have a desire to write something, I often compress my thoughts into a small, short message, then post it onto either Facebook or Twitter. Interestingly enough I’ve looked at the statistics page of my blog and have published approximately 49 entries; however, have 41 entries still in draft format. In all honesty, I believe that this shows that I have a lot of things to say, and that perhaps I am compressing too many things down, just for the sake of online social media.
I think that’s why I recently came to the decision that I want to minimize the number of times that I post onto my Facebook and Twitter accounts, while increasing the number of blogs I write. Whether they’re short, or extensive, I think that’s what I want to do.
At first, I thought that I would force myself to write more blogs by deleting all of my social media accounts, but couldn’t see that as ideal, if later down the line I lacked the desire to continue writing. Not only that, but social media is also the way I’m actually able to keep in contact with some great people that have had a great and large influence in my life. So this put me into somewhat of a dilemma.
Rather than deleting my social media accounts right away, I’ve decided to just blog freely. Once I feel I have finally established a writing rhythm again, I may finally be able to delete facebook without a hitch; or maybe just use it “sparingly”. I guess time will tell.
That’s all I have for now.
