Last year, I received my first commissioned request (from someone on DeviantArt) to draw their original character (Baulder). I really didn’t feel very inspired back then, so I whipped something up that I wasn’t entirely pleased with, and colored it. I don’t think it turned out all that bad, but I can honestly admit that it wasn’t up to par with a lot of my previous pieces. I felt like I could have done a lot better, especially since I made his/her piece look a little too rushed, as well as a bit too similar to a Dragon Ball Z character.

Anyway, I decided to work on a possible redesign of Baulder, yesterday, and this was what I came up with. I was trying to break out of my normal drawing style; changing practically every way I drew the face, the body, and even the hair (a bit). It really makes me wonder what it would end up looking like if I digitally color this one…

I guess in due time, we’ll see…
