I’ve been having trouble falling asleep at a decent hour, but I rectified this problem last night, or should I say this morning?
For almost an entire week, I’ve been going to bed around 3-4am, and waking up around 10-11am. This sleep pattern has ruined my daily routine involving the gym, so I decided to correct this melanin malfunction by staying up all of last night. I didn’t mean to, but I ended up falling asleep around 730am, but then was woken up by my sister Kara telling me that our uncle, Tommy, was at the airport and was ready to be picked up. The entire family was busy at the parental’s preparing food for New Year’s day, and I had volunteered myself to pick him up from the airport the night before.
All in all, I am running on 3 hours of sleep and lots of caffeine. I hit the gym for two hours and got home a little after 8. I was very drowsy behind the wheel headed to the gym, but managed to make it there in one piece. The first thing I usually do when I get to the gym is hit the dry sauna to stretch my muscles, but the minute I sat down in there I nearly fell asleep. I believe I actually dozed off a bit because I outlasted everyone that came into the sauna after me. Anyway, after a good speed interval training on the treadmill and some resistance training, I was actually quite pumped up and awake by the time I got home; But after a nice warm shower I feel the bed calling my name. I really want to write a reflection on how 2012 went, but I know I wouldn’t last. Not only that, but I’m sure that by the end of the blog – things would begin to sound like nonsense.
Anyway, before that occurs while writing this blog, in case I don’t get the chance to say it at a later date, I just wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Year! May 2013 be a prosperous year for us all.
