The Plan

This last week was filled with midterm after midterm, and now I finally feel as though I can breath. In the past, in order to relieve stress, I usually took all of my pent up frustrations and went to the gym, but for the past few months I haven’t been able to accommodate this need due to the “stresses” of life and college. Since I’ve been home, I’ve also been somewhat frugal when it comes to the cost of gym membership(s), as it was always free during my duration in the Marine Corps. At times, the gym was even open during most major holidays.

Although my current membership on-campus is a killer deal ($60/year), the downside comes at the gym’s operating hours. During our breaks, the gym is easily accessible; however, when the term begins – that’s when the problems start. The operating hours of the gym during a school term is from 6-8am (closed due to classes from 8 until noon) and then it’s open again from noon until 6pm. On Fridays they close at 5pm, they’re closed on Sundays, and are only open on Saturdays from 8am until 3pm.

I used to be able to get up around 0530 (often running on 5-6 hours of sleep) during the weekdays, but the last two terms have had me up late at night – preventing me from my early morning workout routines. Fortunately for me, my sister Kessa and her husband have memberships at LA Fitness and added me onto their VIP list, so that I get a free 10 day trial. I’ll probably be signing up with a membership with them, as I need a gym that operates with reliable hours. I’m definitely stoked to finally get back into a routine, though.
